Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a former derivatives trader turned scholar and researcher. He is known for a multidisciplinary approach to the role of the high-impact rare event –across economics, philosophy, political science, finance, engineering, and history. He is currently Distinguished Professor of Risk Engineering at New York University Polytechnic Institute.
His current focus is on "antifragile" systems, those that gain from disorder.
His books Antifragile, The Black Swan & Fooled by Randomness have been published in 33 languages.
