- I want to interact at this intersection of technology and the D's of development, diplomacy, and (my area) defense.
- Why is user need more important than cool tech? Or is it?
- Cool tech certainly has intrinsic value! If I'm looking for inspiration (or a toy), then coolness is a must. But in my role as a finder of solutions for difficult problems, I have to place the users' requirements first. Under those circumstances, "crude but effective" often trumps "cool but...".
